Day 8



I woke up at 08.00 a.m. and was planning to go to the York. Unfortunately it was raining and windy outside so I decided to visit York next weekend. I read more about York and the rain didn't stop. The rain stopped about at 12.30. p.m. so I went to Leeds with few other students from Finland. We visited a few malls and shops that you can't find in Kouvola. Other students bought clothes, but I didn't buy anything. I was searching something to bring to Finland as a souvenir. I actually found some souvenirs but was scared to buy anything. I have two and a half weeks left so I decided to not hurry. At least I have a few ideas in my mind.
In the middle of shopping we ate fish&chips. They were good but not as good as in the other place that was located next to my job. After lunch we walked around Leeds and saw for example the town hall from up close. Other students wanted to visit more shops, but i went home, but I went home. It wasn't that dark yet so I walked home. On the road home there were
many students outside and I think it's because of the weekend and they wanted to have some fun with friends. I noticed that British students have more fun on their free time as they were walking around in big groups and hanging out together.

    Sasha visit some museum or another interesting place, it gives your more information about place and it's history, this make different from another places. Shops how you truly noticed are the same nowadays.

      I'm planning to visit museums in York. Joan said that in Leeds there are no good museums. Leeds is more of a student city so there are lots of pubs, bars and night clubs.

    The most famous thing in Leeds must be Leeds United FC. But not much besides football, I believe.

    That's true, also all of Leeds universities are famous but they are schools. I can't go inside, but I can take photos if you want in my next blog. Next to my job is Leeds United shop, if you want I can bring you a shirt from there :D.

Last day with Graham and Food in York

Day 18 Last day in Technology campus: Today was my last day in Technology campus, because Graham is taking three days off. For the next three days I will be with the estates in Park Lane campus. Today we went with the estates to landfill to drop a full van of garbage. It was my first time in the car that was driving on the left side of the road. It was a bit scary, but I trusted Phill who drove the car. Food in York:   After I visited the York minster I walked a bit around the city. I walked for about an hour and saw a crepe stand. I bought a crepe with nutella inside which you can see in the photo. I'm a chocolate lover so it was delicious. After the crepe I walked around the city visiting some shops and boutiques including a very narrow street with different Harry Potter shops. There was like ten different Harry Potter shops, for example shop with wands, shop with brooms and many others. After the "Harry Potter street" I went to the pub to get something to

New friends and ping pong

  Day 12 Firs work experience in pl campus: Today I was with Graham from 08:30 till 12:30. After lunch which was 12:30 - 13:30 I went to the pl campus and worked with estates. After work I went to the school gym to do workout, there were two school trainers who can help you with your workout. The gym and trainers are free for the school's students and staff. Ben was one of the trainers who showed me everything and told when I can use the gym and where I need to sign in everytime I use it, Ben also offered to coach me but I had a program so I politely declined. After workout I went to the grocery store to get Food for next week. In the grocery stores there are many offers like buy two of the same product and get it two quids cheaper. Day 13 Ping Pong: Today I was with Graham because he asked Paul if I could stay the whole day with him. In the technology campus was some kind of "game day". In the canteen was table tennis, playstation, board games and more. S

First touch with Leeds

Day 3 Leeds: Today I went to the Park Lane Campus where we did welcome with Paul who is International Project Officer and four more students from Kotka. After the welcome we went to find a place to eat. Three students ordered tacos while me and another student ordered Vietnamese food. I ate soup with mushrooms, meat and some vegetables. After we ate we headed to the mall where we did some shopping and got tasty ice-teas. The ice-tea was with some bubbles which you could suck through a straw, pop it in your mouth and you could taste the liquid inside of it, which was sweet. I also saw a man raging in an apple store, throwing phones, laptops and watches off the table. Security got him and after a few minutes, the police came. Police took few photos of the scene and filed a police report. I thought to myself that it's gonna be a big bill that he's going to pay for.
